CHOCOLATE

  
     Chocolate, as a word, means a raw or processed food produced from the seed of the tropical Thedoroma cacao tree. It is one of the most liked foods in the world. It is an undeniable fact that almost everyone likes it. Today, it is used for different purposes in every aspects of life. We can see it during ceremonies, celebrations, meetings or in daily life. 
     In history, chocolate was used as a beverage. White pulp around the cacao beans was used as a source of sugar for an alcoholic drink. The Maya civilization used the cacao seeds to make a bitter drink called frothy. In this civilization, chocolate was also used for ceremonial purposes. The Azteks used chocolate as sacred offerings to the goddess of  fertility. Throughout the Aztek Empire, chocolate was a luxury good. Cacao beans were used as currency.
     Chocolate is generally eaten for pleasure. Nobody considers its health effects while eating it. It is a fact that chocolate has both positive and negative impacts on human health.
                          
 Positive Effects:


-Migranes: Chocolate can lower the effectiveness of the inflammatory chemicals. Thus, it can suppress the symptoms of migranes.


-Circulatory benefits: Cacao has a considerable action. This protects the person against low-density-lipoprotein oxidation. Dark chocolate also reduces blood pressure. However, milk chocolate negates the health benefit. Chocolate has a neutral influence on cholesterol. It doesn't raise cholesterol levels. In addition, it lowers the risk of  hearth attack.


-Muscle recovery: Athletes consuming chocolate have less muscle damage compared to the ones who do not. Sweating causes loss of minerals. Chocolate is an important source of minerals.


-Other benefits: Chocolate may help brain not lose its functions. It can also prevent caugh. Cacao-based prescription drugs can potentially help treat diabetes, dementia and similar diseases.


Negative Effects:


-Obesity: Obesity is one of the most common health problems in today's world. Chocolate has calorie in high amounts. Unfortunately, it can lead to obesity when eaten too much.


-Teeth decay: When a person eat chocolate and doesn't maintain his teeth, decays can occur. As a person who suffered from theeth problems in childhood, i do not recommend eating too much chocolate.
    In conclusion, i can say that chocolate has both good and bad impacts on human health. Actually, eating chocolate is not harmful. Its harms occur when eaten too much. We can eat it without exaggerating the quantity of it. It is extra ordinarily good to eat chocolate even while writing this text :D

  1. Ayferr, it is a really good topic especially for me. Like everyone, I love chocolate, but you know, I can't eat much. It is very useful for my migrane, and I certainly know it gives happiness. Whenever I feel sad myself, I eat a piece of chocolate, and then I forget what bothers me. When I go back to Ankara, I will buy chocolate to you;)

I know that you are among the numerous people who loves chocolate. It helps us forget everything. It is healthy when eaten in moderate amounts, but i advise you eat less than moderate.
